Our selection committees for FFDD25
While the Call for Entry for the 37 FILMFEST DRESDEN 2025 has been open since September 1, the first meetings of our selection committees for the International, National and Central German Competition are already taking place. We are delighted to once again welcome familiar faces for the film screenings, but also to have a breath of fresh air for our competition programmes.
The committee of the International Competition has changed the most. We welcome a total of three new colleagues: freelance short film programmer Aleksandra Ławska, film programmer, editor and curator Niels Putman and filmmaker and artist Hoda Taheri will be supporting Mackenzie Fincham, Vincent Förster and Anne Gaschütz in the film selection this winter. The commission has thus grown from five to six people, which is due to the increased number of film submissions.
For the National Competition, curator Mathias Barkhausen is a first-time member. A warm welcome! Steffi Karn, Christian Hempel, Petra Stipetić and Sylke Gottlebe, some of whom have been members for many years, are still part of the National Commission.
The Central German selection committee remains unchanged compared to the previous year: Linda Kujawski and Olaf Held, together with Sven Pötting, are looking forward to strong films from Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt.
The first submissions are already being viewed and the final competitions will be decided in January. These will be exciting and film-filled months! At the 37 FILMFEST DRESDEN you can enjoy the programmes on the big screen.
