Become part of the pre-selection team at FILMFEST DRESDEN
Every year, several thousand short films from around the world are submitted to FILMFEST DRESDEN. Before the selection committee decides which films will be screened in the International Competition, each submission goes through a multi-stage selection process.
We would like to open up that process.
From autumn 2026 onwards, we are looking for people based in Dresden and Saxony who would like to watch international short films and share their impressions with us. No previous experience in film is required – in fact, we are looking for fresh perspectives and different lived experiences.
As a pre-selector, you will watch up to 250 international short films over several months and provide brief comments. Your impressions will complement the work of the selection committee and become an additional voice within the selection process. Final programming decisions remain with the committee.

We particularly encourage applications from people whose perspectives are often underrepresented within cultural and film institutions.
