29 FILMFEST DRESDEN 2017
The 29th festival edition from 4 to 9 April 2017 drew 21,500 visitors, as well as a record number of professional guests: 650 filmmakers and industry representatives from 32 countries came to Dresden to view the six International Competitions and five National Competitions and attend the special events, such as the masterclasses by the renowned directors Denis Côté (Canada) and Ossama Mohammed (Syria). In 2017 for the first time, FILMFEST DRESDEN offered people with disabilities the opportunity to view programmes. This included barrier-free entrance to festival events, as well as two special programme presentations on the subject of inclusion. The festival’s second focus was on Syrian film in the last 40 years.
