International short films, powerful stories and real participation

Short.Film.Scouts brings the art of film directly to kids and young people. They discover global perspectives in creative workshops, learn to analyse, produce and present films. As scouts, they organize their own events, build a strong peer network and become ambassadors for cultural participation themselves. Their work is heard - in public, online and on stage at FILMFEST DRESDEN.

Short.Film.Scouts strengthens media competence, self-confidence and community - in a sustainable and low-threshold way.

Analyse short films with a critical eye and understand their impact, select them together and create exciting film programmes. Show what you can do in your own events - from moderation to technology. Short.Film.Scouts pass on their knowledge as peer experts. They bring a breath of fresh air to their institution and receive a certificate at the end.

The Short.Film.Scouts are going on tour! They bring their self-curated short film programs to other institutions and special locations, such as the Lingnerschloss in Dresden. In hands-on activities, they share their knowledge, open up new perspectives and create spaces for exchange within the peer group.

The in-house workshops take place directly at the teams' facilities. The kids and young people deepen their knowledge of film technology, social media and public relations. Professionals sit in, learn about media education methods and receive advice on technology and implementation. Exchange and support create a lasting impact and pave the way for their own media projects.

Teams of Short.Film.Scouts from all over Saxony visit cultural events together - to get to know each other, exchange ideas and network. At FILMFEST DRESDEN, they immerse themselves in the festival world, make contact with the festival's youth jury and exchange ideas with filmmakers.

Sometimes it can be a little more: In our special formats, we combine short films with special topics, exhibitions or vacation activities - always lifeworld-oriented, resource-oriented, participative and empowering. The specials are also ideal as taster offers. They offer initial access to the Scouts, make cultural participation tangible and invite people to join in.
