Film programmes
Sat + Sun: Families, children and young people get their money's worth
Once again this year, numerous short film programmes will be shown especially for children and young people aged five and up. The venues are the Schauburg, the Thalia, Filmnächte am Elbufer, the Programmkino Ost and the Club Cinema in Lingnerschloss.
Sat, 4pm Schauburg: Short Tiger Next Generation 2021: Premiere
The programme shows a selection of the 11 best productions by German film schools and young directors. Actress Marleen Lohse and her jury colleagues Katrin Küchler and Christian Bräuer have decided which directorial hopefuls will be part of this year's short film reel and may travel to Dresden with their films.
Sat, 21:30 Filmnächte am Elbufer: Dresden Short Film Night
We present festival favourites from the competition and special programmes in front of a breathtaking backdrop and take you on an entertaining journey around the world. And who knows, maybe there will even be a freshly selected winning film in the programme?
Sun, 12:30 - 10 pm Schauburg, PK Ost, Lingnerschloss: Award-winning films
After the juries awarded the "Golden Horsemen" to the lucky winners of the 33rd FILMFEST DRESDEN the evening before, all award-winning films will be shown on the big screen again on Sunday! The last chance for all short film enthusiasts to marvel at the festival's cinematic highlights.

On the Saturday of the festival, the cinema seat will be swapped for the bicycle saddle for a short time: we will cycle together to the permanent exhibition and the archive of the German Institute for Animated Film (DIAF). On the way there, there will be a few Dresden anecdotes to marvel at and laugh about.
