Outlook on FFDD24: Animated Programmes

We are delighted that we have been able to attract great curators for our long-standing Animated programme series for the 36 FILMFEST DRESDEN. Here you can find a first taste of the two programmes:

Animated 1: Dirty Animations – Contemporary Animated Films from Chile

Working collectively, Cristóbal León und Joaquín Cociña (Diluvio) create beguilingly artistic stop-motion animations. The programme curated by the Chilian artists brings together works by companions and filmmakers who, like themselves, consistently go their own way in life and for whom the creative process is a space of opportunity for exciting new discoveries.

Animated 2: Drift Mode

Algorithms give directions, smart cities optimise, control reigns – efficiently, relentlessly. Yet as memories fade in the fog of the data overflow and systems fail in the chaos of complex networks, the route maps start crumbling. Welcome to the drift mode! The programme is curated by Veneta Androva, winner of the Golden Horseman Animated Film - International Competition & LUCA Film Prize for Gender Equality 2021.

With the kind support of the Bulgarian Culture Institute Berlin

We look forward to seeing you in Dresden from 18 to 23 April.

We will publish our entire programme on 26 March.
