Our selection committees for FFDD23

Our Call for Entry for the 35 FILMFEST DRESDEN 2023 started on 1 September. The members of the Central German, National and International Selection Committees are already in the starting blocks and are eager to see what cinematic discoveries the new year has in store for them.

Mackenzie Fincham, animation director and curator of the Kaboom Animation Festival, will be screening films for the International Competition for the first time. Welcome to the festival! Vincent Förster, Ricardo Brunn, Anne Gaschütz and Tom Grimshaw continue to be part of the Selection Committee for the International Competition.

The Selection Committee for the National Competition has two new members: filmmaker Erik Lemke and animation student Gregor Wittich complete the commission together with long-time members Steffi Karn, Christian Hempel and Sylke Gottlebe.

The Selection Committee for the Central German Competition remains unchanged: Sven Pötting, Frank Pawella and Viola Lippmann are looking forward to strong films from Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt.

The first submissions are already being viewed and the final competitions will be decided in January. These will be exciting and film-filled months! At the 35th FILMFEST DRESDEN you can enjoy the programmes on the big screen.
