7 July: Short Film Night & Family Shorts
The open-air season has started! As of today, you can secure tickets for our events at the Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe (Filmnächte am Elbufer) in Dresden. You can already make a note of 7 July in your calendar: There will be a "double feature".
5 pm - Family Cinema: Family Shorts
- Imagination, curiosity and fun - that's what the Family Shorts are all about. This year, Filmfest Dresden and the animation school Fantasia Dresden e.V. are presenting a joint programme where you can marvel and participate. In addition to animated films created in workshops by young film fans, highlights from this year's kids programme are looking forward to being screened once again.

9.30 pm - The Dresden Short Film Night
- Three months ago, more than 350 short films from all over the world flickered across Dresden's cinema screens at the 34th FILMFEST DRESDEN. A best-of selection of this year's award-winning films and audience favourites will be shown at the traditional Short Film Night. Moderated by Falk Töpfer and with some of the filmmakers in attendance, the evening promises to be an entertaining journey through the world of the short moving image.

On selected evenings, you can also expect short pre-films. Hand-picked by us, they are the perfect start to the respective main feature films. Let us surprise you!
