31 FILMFEST DRESDEN: Over 2,200 films submitted

More than 2,200 short films were submitted for the 31 FILMFEST DRESDEN. These include 1,339 feature films, 499 animated films, 164 experimental films and 209 documentaries.

The top international submissions are from Germany (524), France (225), Great Britain (140), the U.S. (103) and Canada (90). The festival received short films from 102 production countries - a new record! These include extraordinary participants such as the Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau and Zimbabwe.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the submitters once again! Over the next few weeks, the various commissions and the festival team will view the numerous submissions and select the entries for the competition and the special programmes of the 31 FILMFEST DRESDEN. By 25 February 2019, all submitters will be notified by us.
