17 July 2020: Dresden Short Film Night on the banks of the Elbe river

Everything is different this year. Actually, in April we would have long since chosen the winning films of this year's FILMFEST DRESDEN, danced at the festival party until the morning and let ourselves be carried away into the wide world by short stories in our favourite cinemas. Instead, we have pushed this year's festival edition into September.

And yet some things remain the same and so we are looking forward to being a guest at the Filmnächte am Elbufer in 2020 with the Dresden Short Film Night. Even better: instead of a Best Of, we will be showing a foretaste of the next festival edition - highlights with favourite film potential from the competitions and special programmes. Because there is a lot to discover at this year's festival: mothers who don't listen and men who can't cry. Digital parallel worlds with extraterrestrial dimensions. Speaking of parallel worlds: this year, the animal world has reclaimed its leading role in short films. Philosophising, dancing, crawling. What all this has to do with apple sauce and David Hasselhoff, you can see on one of the most beautiful outdoor screens on 17 July! We are looking forward to seeing you.
