Hosts wanted: Become part of the FFDD26!
From 14 to 19 April 2026, Dresden will once again be transformed into a centre of international short film - the 38 FILMFEST DRESDEN is just around the corner! Numerous filmmakers from Germany, Europe and all over the world will be travelling to the city to present their works and exchange ideas with the audience.
In order to facilitate this creative exchange, the festival is looking for hospitable Dresdeners who would like to host filmmakers during the festival. Anyone who can provide a free room, a couch or a bed has the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of film.
Short visit - an enriching experience for everyone! The ‘short visit’ programme offers a special opportunity for hosts and guests alike. Festival guests are always grateful for the warm welcome and the chance to get to know Dresden through the eyes of the locals. At the same time, hosts gain a unique insight into the vibrant short film scene and can network with filmmakers from all over the world.
Take part now! If you are interested in hosting filmmakers, please send an email to kurzbesuch@filmfest-dresden.de by 5 March 2026. Please provide the following information:
- Name and address
- Language skills
- Number of available accommodation places
- Information on pets or smoking facilities in the flat
In addition to the festival feeling in your own four walls, as a small thank you, each guest will receive one free ticket per night for film screenings of their choice from the 38 FILMFEST DRESDEN programme. The free tickets can be picked up at the guest centre from 14 April.
