#FFDDathome #sofascreening from 21 to 26 April 2020

Even though we had to postpone the 32 FILMFEST DRESDEN from our traditional April date to autumn (new date: 8 to 13 September 2020) due to the new corona virus, we do not want to let the original festival week from 21 to 26 April pass without a short film!

That's why we invite you to the #FFDDathome #sofascreening on our social channels. Starting Tuesday, 21 April, we have put together a small "festival programme": with film screenings, live talks with protagonists from the short film scene and the FFDD20 as well as a competition for the creative cells. The week will open with the premiere of this year's festival trailer, created by animation artist Nikita Diakur (e.g. FEST, winner of the DEFA Promotion Prize Animation at FFDD19).

At the daily  film screenings ,we present a children's short film at 3 pm and a short film from this year's festival programme at 8 pm, both from the competitions and the special programmes.

For our English  live talks on Instagram we would like to invite you to send us your questions for our guests in advance or to participate during the talks via the comment function  . On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 6pm we will be talking to Nikita Diakur (animation filmmaker), Christoph May (member Gender Diversity jury FFDD20) and Aneta Ozorek (artistic director of the Kaboom Animation Festival).

Finally, we would like to call on you in a competition to activate all creative forces and design your own film award statue. We have the Golden Horseman, but what else is possible? Handicraft, pottery, lace-making - let your imagination run free! Send us your ideas and pictures by e-mail to straensch(at)filmfest-dresden.de or post them with the hashtags #FFDDathome #sofascreening on social media. Among all participants we raffle 3 festival packages (each with bag, festival magazine and two free tickets). Furthermore,  the main-winning prize statue will get a guest appearance at our award ceremony in autumn! You can vote for the entries on Facebook and Instagram during the week and on Saturday we will announce the winners. There is no legal recourse.

Join us and take a seat in your most comfortable sofa spot - we take care of the films and guests!
