FFDD26 Outlook: Focus Programmes ‘Work in Progress’
We are heading towards the 38th edition of FILMFEST DRESDEN – and would like to give you a first glimpse into this year's theme. From 14 to 19 April 2026, our special programmes will be dedicated to the title ‘Work in Progress’ and will ask how our working world is changing: What forms of fairness at work do we need in the future? How can solidarity and social cohesion be achieved? And what does work actually mean today?
This focus forms the second part of our trilogy ‘Generational Change – New Justice’, which we will continue until 2027. While last year we focused primarily on the topic of solidarity, we are now turning our attention to the upheavals that are shaping our working worlds – from digitalisation and big data to precariousness and global transformation processes. Short films are particularly well suited for this purpose: they reveal where power structures, inequalities and new perspectives are emerging and open up spaces for social debate.
A special highlight is once again the collaboration with Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden, our partner platform for art, science and technology. Together, we are exploring how changing working conditions are affecting our lives, our relationships and our environment – and where the journey might take us.
Look forward to exciting programmes at the 38 FILMFEST DRESDEN from 14 to 19 April 2026 /// Advance ticket sales start on 24 March.
