Once again this year, numerous short film programmes will be shown especially for children and young people aged five and up. The venues are the Schauburg, the Thalia, the Programmkino Ost and the Club Cinema in Lingnerschloss.
We will also be showing our Family Shorts at our Open Air on Saturday and Sunday from 14:00 to 17:00 on Neumarkt.

Sat, 5:30 pm Schauburg: Retrospective 2 - From Borna to Shibuya

Together with the Film Association of Saxony and the Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library, we present digitally remastered film treasures from the archives, impressive contemporary documents from 100 years of Saxon history with Baumkuchen, Halbstarken, dance and fresh breath.

Sat, 8 pm Schauburg: Tribute: Omer Fast

Omer Fast (*1972) is one of the most striking film and video artists of his generation and is a master of irritation. In his films he creates his own little worlds in which one gets lost. Again and again he tells stories of alienation and loss. In different ways his works develop a fantastic pull that takes the viewer on a journey into the wounded psyche of his protagonists. So, 12:30 - 10 pm Schauburg, PK Ost: prize-winning films

After the juries had awarded the "Golden Horsemen" to the lucky winners of the 32 FILMFEST DRESDEN the evening before, all the prize-winning films will once again be shown on the big screen on Sunday! The last chance for all short film enthusiasts* to marvel at the cinematic highlights of the festival.
