Festival Programme Now Finalised
The heart and soul of the 2016 FILMFEST DRESDEN is now online – our festival programme. And everything is moving at a fast pace here in Dresden: All of the films have been viewed and selected, the juries are filled, all of the filmmakers have been informed and invited, and the festival catalogue is ready for printing. And anyone not able to wait for the printed catalogue to arrive, can already find out everything they need to know about our festival programme online on our website.
The centrepiece of FILMFEST DRESDEN is its International and National Competitions, with the films there battling for the ever-popular Golden Horsemen festival trophies. At the same time, an extensive range of other filmic options can be enjoyed during the festival week in the 26 special events and programmes. These include three screening programmes for this year’s special focus on photo animation, the tribute programme to the DEFA Studios documentary filmmaker and painter Jürgen Böttcher alias Strawalde on the occasion of his 85th birthday, as well as the “Films for Safety” retrospective with selected film and video footage from the archive of the Belgian intelligence services. And for the small and not so small ones, we have a wonderful programme for kids and young people, as well as our "Soother Cinema" event for families with toddlers and babies.
All of the advance ticket agencies have now begun to sell tickets to this year’s festival events. On top of that, tickets can even be bought online – right from the comfort of your sofa at home.
