Accessible short films at the FFDD21

Cinema without barriers - that is the name of a project of FILMFEST DRESDEN, which wants to make a part of its festival programme accessible to people who hardly ever go to the cinema due to a disability. For several years now, four competition programmes have been made accessible which means that the films will be provided with extended German subtitles for the hearing impaired and German audio description for the visually impaired. Sign language interpreters translate the moderations. The programmes are also screened in wheelchair-accessible venues (Programmkino Ost, Filmnächte am Elbufer). In addition, the festival opening, award ceremony and Sandwich Talks (National Competition) will be translated live into German sign language.

The overview of our venues with information on accessibility can be found here.
