32 FILMFEST DRESDEN to be postponed to 8 till 13 September
Against the background of the current situation regarding the novel coronavirus, the festival team, in coordination with the main sponsors, has decided to postpone the 32 Filmfest Dresden to 8 to 13 September 2020.
"We very much regret that the festival cannot take place in April as planned, but in view of the dramatic developments, this decision is also unavoidable out of a sense of responsibility towards our guests and staff," explains festival director Sylke Gottlebe. "It is very important to us to offer the filmmakers and their works a public platform as well as the audience the familiar festival atmosphere and we hope to meet these demands with a postponement".
The Saxon Minister of Culture, Barbara Klepsch, also regrets the postponement of the festival: "As patron of this special format, I am very saddened that the 32 Filmfest Dresden cannot open in April. I would like to thank everyone involved in the organisation of the festival and hope that we will be able to enjoy the event in late summer."
Whether the festival programme in September will take place as planned or with restrictions due to the change is currently being examined in detail by the festival organisers. Do I have to re-submit my film?
The programme of the 32 FILMFEST DRESDEN will remain the same. You do not have to re-submit your film.
My film was supposed to be part of the National/International Competition. Is it still nominated?
The competition programmes of the 32 FILMFEST DRESDEN will be taking place as announced. If there are any changes to the programme, you will be notified ASAP.
Do I have to send a new screening copy?
No, you do not have to send us another screening copy. If you have not yet sent a screening copy to us, please contact Sebastian Wagner: wagner(at)filmfest-dresden.de
Do I have to sign up again for an accreditation?
Yes, you will have to sign up for an accreditation again. Accredited guests will receive further information via email in due time.
Do I have to pay cancellation fees for my accreditation?
All accreditations will be cancelled automatically. You will not have to pay any fees.
Do I have to pay cancellation fees for my hotel room?
If your hotel was booked via FILMFEST DRESDEN it will be cancelled automatically and you will not have to pay any fees. If you booked your hotel room yourself, please contact the accommodation directly and inquire about the cancellation policy.
Do I have to pay the cancellation fees for my train/bus/plane ticket?
If your trip was booked via FILMFEST DRESDEN it will be cancelled automatically and you will not have to pay any fees. If you booked your ticket yourself, please contact the travel company directly and inquire about the cancellation policy.
