Discussion: Exit Happyland

Fri, 21.4. 18:30 * Hole of Fame

Exit Happyland" aims to address dominant narratives and stereotyping images, but also to show alternatives. It is about making diversity visible at a time when right-wing populism is growing stronger. To what extent can art and culture, can film be a place of social negotiation? What does an alternative, anti-racist film production look like that takes migrant realities and perspectives of BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) into account? What conditions are needed in the film industry to make diversity even more visible? Free admission, in English

City walk: DD Postcolonial

Sat, 22.4. 11:00 a.m. * Meeting point at the Schauburg

(Post)colonial and racist power structures still have an impact today, yet colonial history is hardly mentioned in Dresden's historical self-image. DRESDENpostkolonial wants to counteract this and deals with Dresden's colonial history, documents it and carries out educational work critical of racism and postcolonial in the form of city tours, workshops and lectures. DRESDENpostkolonial invites you to a city walk (1.5 - 2h) to tell the untold stories of Dresden's Neustadt, to show perspectives of resistance and to draw attention to global inequalities. Free admission, in English
