DESCRIPTION:Wilhelm Hein (1940-2025) was one of Germany’s most exciting and influential pioneers of experimental and underground film. The found-footage collages he created in collaboration with Birgit Hein (1942-2023)\, as well as their own images and performative structures centred on cinema as an open field of thought and experience. The programme is honouring these friends of FILMFEST DRESDEN and a unique body of work that defined cinematic freedom anew.
