SUMMARY:Industry Rendezvous: Fishbowl “Film Culture in Rural Areas Brings People Together?!”
DESCRIPTION:Thu\, 16.4. 16:30 Fishbowl “Film Culture in Rural Areas Brings People Together?!”\, followed by reception * Goethe-Institut Dresden\nThe industry rendezvous with Dresden-based film institutes traditionally provides a relevant platform for discussions and exchanges on current topics in regional filmmaking and conveying aspects of the film culture\, as well as the cultural policy conditions required for this. Again at this year’s event\, this industry rendezvous is commencing with a fishbowl-format discussion entitled “Film Culture in Rural Areas Brings People Together?!”.\n\nBased on the perspectives of those involved in this area\, as well as of the funders and related communal structures\, the intention is to discuss the impacts and needs of initiatives specifically aimed at strengthening film culture in rural areas. Which ones already exist and how are the current budgetary developments in the cultural sector affecting them? How visible have these initiatives been to their target audiences to date? What is really needed on a local level so as to conduct (film) culture work in rural areas? Which structural requirements are there in addition to the financial ones? Do people from differing backgrounds engage with each other at these events? Can film culture foster democracy? The discussion\, in which all participants are welcome to join via an open forum\, aims to highlight what film culture work in rural areas achieves\, where it faces limitations\, and how it can be better supported in the future. \nFollowing the discussion\, the Dresden-based film institutes\, AG Kurzfilm – German Short Film Association\, Saxon Film Association\, German Institute for Animated Film (DIAF)\, MOVE IT! Film Festival\, Dresden-based schmalfilmtage film festival and FILMFEST DRESDEN are together inviting everyone to a reception.\n\nFishbowl with:\nGisela Förster\, former City Manager of Neustadt in Saxony\nAndré Peters\, Kinoinhaber Grenzland Lichtspiele in Neustadt in Saxony\nCarsten Möller\, Kino in Bewegung\nPresenter: Short Film Programme Manager\, Berlinale Generation Section & Presenter at the Shortfilm Tours of FILMFEST DRESDEN\n\nBy invitation or registration by email to festival@filmfest-dresden.de\, in German
