DESCRIPTION:Did you know that from the top of a pineapple you can grow a new pineapple\, and from the top of that pineapple you can grow another one – and so on\, and so on\, in theory\, forever? Useful knowledge for the day a series of geopolitical disasters forces humanity to relearn how to inhabit a post-internet world. Attempting to bring back digital memories in real life\, a sweet and juicy pineapple might just save your night in a rehab centre run by Mark Zuckerberg and the Jenner-Kardashian clan. \nJuicy is also the cue for two welders observing an astral phenomenon during their lunch break. Faced with the sublime\, they lower their masks – even when the sun is out. And speaking of masks: has anyone ever thought about a rescue dummy’s feelings? Behind its fixed smile\, a whirlwind of emotions floods its plastic carcass\, especially when forgotten at the bottom of a swimming pool. How sweet it would be to be picked up and lifted to the surface in the strong and reassuring arms of a swimmer…\nCould this swimmer be Pubert Jimbob? Not yet. First\, he has to come to the rescue of Nadine\, a lump with a mouth\, after being lured away from his beloved sofa by an enigmatic figure who throws him a lighter. Candela\, on the other hand\, probably should have stayed on hers. Instead\, she accidentally runs over her nephew’s dog – on his birthday of all days. So\, rather than confess\, she invents a legend about a dog pilgrimage to a sacred tree. \nAnd\, as we all know\, lies travel surprisingly far\, at least until the post-internet age has fully arrived. In our wild world\, ordinary people are called wolves and persecuted as useless and dangerous\, while in reality\, they are just adorable cats living their everyday lives. In the end\, nobody agrees on what is real – the eclipse\, the pilgrimage\, the wolves or the cats – but the pineapple keeps growing\, which is as good a system of truth as any.\n\nVincent Förster on behalf of the Selection Committee for the International Competition
