SUMMARY:Focus 3: Cloud Nine to Five
DESCRIPTION:Our daily working lives are undergoing rapid change: Traditional structures are losing their contours and shapes\, as new forms of organisation\, control and how we position ourselves emerge. These dynamics are closely linked to the logic of data-driven neoliberalism\, in which productivity\, self-optimisation and constant availability are increasingly becoming normative expectations. Their impact is both productive and unsettling at one and the same time. The programme\, developed together with the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden\, avails of this background to have a filmic exploration of the “Data↔Worlds” theme.\nTaking this backdrop of profound upheavals being moulded by big data and digital technologies as they reshape the realities of both work and life\, the films selected provide analytical\, critical and speculative access to the shifting dynamics between productivity\, control and self-determination. They reveal how data-driven infrastructures not only transform economic processes but also reconfigure social relationships\, ecological interconnections and individual spheres of experience – and how new forms of subjective responsibility\, control and dependency are articulated within them.\n\nSven Pötting with Pauline Hohn\, Gwendolin Kremer\, Mario Pfeifer
