24 FILMFEST DRESDEN 2012

FILMFEST DRESDEN celebrated its 24th edition from 17 to 22 April 2012. In total, 2,222 films from 82 countries were submitted to the festival. 42 films were selected from these to compete in the International Competition and 29 films in the National Competition. In addition to the competitions, the festival presented 29 special film programmes. These included the comprehensive showpiece programme "Eastwind" on East European short film in the 1960s, as well as the programme focusing on clay animation entitled "Wandellust". The film programmes were accompanied by the "etc. – events, trainings, connections" section which contained a wide range of specialist and other events related to the various programmes.
