Analogue Dreams Workshop: Homage to Derek Jarman
FILMFEST DRESDEN dedicates a tribute to Derek Jarman this year. In line with his legacy, we are reviving analogue film art in this year's workshop. From 10 to 13 April 2019, filmmakers can shoot a short film on 8 or 16mm under the guidance of the experienced director and author Csaba Bollók.

Forum "Visegrad in Short(s)"
For the fifth time, short film makers from the Visegrád countries, Germany and the Balkan region will meet in Dresden to present their films, network, further their education and develop new ideas. Participants will take part in FILMFEST DRESDEN's various industry events and training programmes of the forum "Visegrad in Short(s)".

Workshop: Talking Shorts - Writing about Short Film
For the first time, the Visegrád Forum will host a workshop on short film criticism. One week before the festival, participants will gain insights into journalistic practice under the guidance of established journalists and film scholars. During the festival week they will write profound reviews on the films they have watched. In the course of the year, the reviews will then be published on the new platform talkingshorts.com. The workshop will take place from 4 to 13 April 2019.
